Chaired by Professor Jenny Simpson OBE Workstream Chair Tackling Concerns Locally White Paper Implementation Group Department of Health this one day conference opens with a presentation from Simon Bennett Head of Clinical Governance Department of Health who will give a national update on the Responsible Officer and discuss, the qualities, roles and responsibilities of the Responsible Officer, supporting the Responsible Officer role at a local, regional and national level, conflicts of interests, working with doctors in non mainstream roles and the SHA Responsible Officer role.

Delegates will have the opportunity to choose from the final joint session focusing on remedial development and support for clinicians in difficulty and a workshop session on the Responsible Officer and independent doctor.
